About the Orlando MBDA Business Center

The Business Center assists eligible MBEs in growing their businesses and competing in domestic and global markets. The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce, leads Federal Government efforts to promote the growth and global competiveness of America’s growing minority business enterprise (MBE) community. Through MBDA’s services, MBEs are better equipped to create jobs, contribute to local economies, and sustain America’s position as a world economic leader.



Who We Serve

The Orlando MBDA Business Center serves Central and North Florida. The minority business development services, focuses on securing domestic public and/or private contracts and financing transactions, exports, and job creation for “eligible minority-owned businesses.” Companies that are 51% owned or controlled by the following persons or groups of persons are eligible to receive technical business assistance services from the MBDA Business Center Program: African American, Hispanic American, American Asian and Pacific Islander, Native American (including Alaska Natives, Alaska Native Corporations and Tribal entities), Asian Indian American, and Hasidic Jewish Americans.

Access to Capital

Services include identification of domestic and global financing opportunities, equity financing, brokerage of financial transactions, identification and closure of merger and acquisition transactions.

Global Business Development

Services include identification of export markets, facilitation of global transactions, international trade missions and market analysis, and overseas market promotion assistance.

Access to Contracts

Services include identification of procurement opportunities, solicitation analysis, bid and proposal preparation, negotiation and closing, research contract award histories.

Access to Markets

Services include government procurement assistance, private sector contract identification and specialized certification assistance including 8(a), and assistance with market research.

Strategic Business Consulting

Services include sales consulting and forecasting, market feasibility studies, operations management and quality control, bid preparation and bonding (construction), and manufacturing facility leasing.

Education & Training

Industry leaders conduct workshops and seminars designed to teach minority entrepreneurs how to take their businesses to the next level.
